Jason’s Deli and its Solar Panel Renovation

Jason’s Deli is committed to go green, and has recently opened its first Solar Deli in Beaumont.  This is the first of 170 deli restaurants which are to be powered in part by solar energy, with more locations planned in the future.  Jason’s new Solar Deli will generate approximately 6,900 kilowatts of power per year for the Beaumont location.  This equals approximately 13,100 pounds of carbon dioxide from being released into the atmosphere.  This is equivalent to eliminating a days worth of carbon dioxide emissions from 400 cars.  They have also opened their second solar powered store in South Austin which generates 7,500 kilowatts of power a year.
